Joining Live After Death: I got a call in mid-Spring 2004 about auditioning for the band. I was doubtful at first - only for the fact that I was in an original band rehearsing 2 nights a week, trying to get it off the ground. I had done the cover band thing to death. I saw L.A.D. perform twice about 2 ½ years prior and naturally, was impressed. They were tight, had a loyal following and played out of state shows. Where do I sign? - just kidding! Being a Maiden fan since 1981 - that’s right, the Dianno era folks - the audition went rather smoothly. My first gig was one month later at BB King’s in Times Square. Five days later, we played 2 gigs in San Juan, P.R., and another one at the Hard Rock in St. Thomas. (Talk about getting thrown in at the deep end! I didn’t even know these guys at all!) That week, I played more gigs with L.A.D. than I did with my original band in a whole year! Getting paid, free beer, more shows in P.R. - doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me! Been with the band just shy of a year now, and it’s been one hell of a roller coaster ride. I’d like to ride it to the end. Cheers!
